Here you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions about our therapy services, mental health consultations and support, both online and in-person.

How to book a psychologist session on GoTherapy? ๐Ÿ—“๏ธ

Go to the specialists catalog, select the desired specialist. Filters will help you choose a specialist. After selecting a specialist and opening their profile, choose the consultation type (individual, couples, children or adolescents), select the desired service (if there is more than one), mark which method you want for consultation, and finally select your preferred date and time. After clicking "Book" you will be taken to the registration area where you can register on the GoTherapy platform, log in to your account, or order a service as a guest. When ordering a service as a guest, you only need to fill in your first and last name, phone number and email address (so that your mental health specialist or GoTherapy administrator can contact you if necessary). After clicking the "Continue" button, you will be transferred to the service payment area, where you can pay for the consultation by choosing your preferred payment method.
That's it โ€“ your booking is complete. We are almost certain that booking a session time will take faster than it took to read this textโฑ๏ธ.

Do you issue invoices for services? ๐Ÿงพ

It is important to note that psychological counseling or psychotherapy services are provided to you by self-employed mental health professionals. GoTherapy does not provide mental health services. Therefore, after the session, you will automatically receive an invoice issued in the name of the specialist for the counseling services provided. Since the laws of the Republic of Lithuania state that an invoice for services can only be issued after the service has been performed, the invoice arrives after the session ends.

If your order includes additional administration fees (e.g. when paying with PayPal), you will receive an invoice for the payment administration service from the service provider, in this case โ€“ GoTherapy.

I have insurance, will I be able to get compensation for services? โฌ…๏ธ

It is important to note that psychological counseling or psychotherapy services are provided to you by self-employed mental health professionals. GoTherapy does not provide mental health services. Therefore, it is very important that you know what requirements your insurance company places on mental health professionals. To date, the easiest way, knowing the requirements, is to contact GoTherapy about whether the desired specialists' services meet the insurance conditions.

Can I cancel a consultation? โŒ

Yes, of course! After registration, you will receive an email confirmation letter. To cancel a consultation, click on the "View registration details" button in the letter, and in the browser window that opens, indicate the reason why you are canceling the session and confirm your decision to cancel.

It is important to mention that booked consultations can be canceled 48 hours before the session starts, otherwise, the booking cannot be canceled and the money for the consultation is not refunded ๐Ÿ˜• .

Therefore, we always suggest considering the possibility of rescheduling the consultation to another time that is convenient for you ๐Ÿ“† .

How to change the time of a booked consultation? โžก๏ธ

After registration, you will receive an email confirmation letter. To reschedule a consultation, click on the "View registration details" button in the letter. In the browser window that opens, indicate the reason why you want to reschedule the consultation and, after selecting a suitable time for you, confirm your decision to reschedule the consultation.

It is important to mention that booked consultations can be rescheduled 48 hours before the session starts, otherwise, the booking cannot be rescheduled and the money for the consultation is not refunded ๐Ÿ˜• .

Therefore, we always suggest planning time for sessions in advance and rescheduling them as early as possible.

Which app will the online psychologist consultation take place in? ๐Ÿ“ฑ

Every psychologist or psychotherapist working online chooses the most suitable app for them. The most popular are Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Skype. When you register with a psychologist, you can see which apps your chosen specialist uses and choose the most suitable one for you.

48 hours before your session starts, you will receive a letter with detailed instructions on how to connect to your psychologist's session online. If you will be using an unfamiliar app or a different device than usual, we strongly recommend trying out your available technology before the session to avoid disruptions and additional stress.

I'm late for the session, what should I do? ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

Most importantly โ€“ don't panic โ˜บ๏ธ ! If you're a few minutes late โ€“ no big deal, it happens to all of us. If more โ€“ your registration reminder letter, which you received or will receive 48 hours before the session, contains your psychologist or psychotherapist's contact information. We suggest contacting the specialist using them and informing them about the situation.

It is important to know that if you are more than 20 minutes late for your session time, the mental health specialist is no longer obliged to wait for you. Unfortunately, money for such sessions where clients are more than 20 minutes late is not refunded ๐Ÿ˜• .

Do you prescribe medication? ๐Ÿ’Š

No. Neither psychologists nor psychotherapists prescribe medication. Medication is prescribed by psychiatrists.

Where is your clinic located? ๐Ÿข

GoTherapy is a service that connects you, the client, with a psychologist or psychotherapist working in private practice. Therefore, we can offer a wide variety of specialists working in all regions of Lithuania and online. GoTherapy does not provide mental health services to clients, as stated in the Terms and Conditions of Service Provision.

My internet connection is poor, can I still join the consultation? ๐Ÿ“ถ

Probably the most important question โ€“ how poor. Internet speed can be checked using the Speed Test service. Practice shows that having at least 2Mbps speed, it is already possible to communicate adequately. If the connection quality is poor, we suggest agreeing with your specialist to turn off cameras and conduct the consultation by voice only. 10 Mbps is sufficient speed to comfortably and quality see and hear each other.

In any case, we recommend checking the internet performance at least a day before the consultation, and if it does not meet expectations, choose another location or use auxiliary connection means โ€“ internet via mobile connection, or internet signal amplification devices ๐Ÿ›œ .

How do I find the specialist's office? ๐Ÿ“

Your registration reminder letter, which you received or will receive 48 hours before the session, will indicate the exact address of your psychologist or psychotherapist's office with instructions on how to get to the office, door codes (if there are any) and other necessary instructions.

Is everything discussed in the consultation confidential? ๐Ÿค

Yes! Psychologists and psychotherapists are bound by professional ethics ensuring client confidentiality in psychotherapy or psychology consultation. Information can be disclosed only in very exceptional cases, for example, when there is a threat to human life.

How much does a consultation cost? ๐Ÿ’ถ

Each GoTherapy specialist sets their own price per session. It may vary depending on session length, consultation type, or other specifics. You will see prices in our specialists catalog and detailed consultation prices are provided in each specialist's profile. In summary, prices range from โ‚ฌ35 to โ‚ฌ150 (sometimes more) for individual, couples or children psychologist or psychotherapist sessions. The average price of our specialists for individual sessions is about โ‚ฌ50, couples therapy - about โ‚ฌ85.

How often do consultations take place and how many might be needed? โŒ›๏ธ

The frequency of consultations (for example, several times a week, once a week, every two weeks or less frequently) is coordinated individually, taking into account the complexity of the situation and clients' possibilities. Sometimes a few meetings are enough, while others facing greater difficulties choose longer, psychotherapeutic work. Work with couples usually requires fewer meetings. Think about it, if you have been living with a problem for more than one year, and probably have already tried to solve it independently, why should it be resolved in just a few psychotherapy sessions?

Why is there an additional fee for PayPal payments? ๐Ÿ’ต

GoTherapy aims to make psychologists' and psychotherapists' services as accessible as possible to as many people as possible. Therefore, our service fees, which allow us to maintain GoTherapy operations and develop the platform, are very small.

Since PayPal payment collection is expensive, accepting such payments would be unprofitable. Nevertheless, we want to offer the possibility to pay with as wide a variety of means as possible. To be able to accept payments using PayPal, we decided to add a payment administration fee, allowing us to amortize the costs associated with it ๐Ÿ’ธ .

What are the available payment methods? ๐Ÿฆ

Currently, on GoTherapy you can pay with all the most popular electronic payment methods: e-banking: Citadele, Luminor, Revolut, SEB, ล iauliลณ bankas, Swedbank; cards: Visa and MasterCard; contactless payments: Apple Pay, Google Pay; PayPal (there is an additional administration fee).

Do you consult by email or messages? ๐Ÿ“ง

Unfortunately, none of the GoTherapy psychologists currently provide such a service.

I have a very specific problem and don't know which specialist to contact, what should I do? ๐Ÿ™„

We understand that every problem can seem unique and specific, requiring special education or ability. And sometimes it can be difficult to choose from such an abundance of specialists. Write your question and needs to us, and we will direct you to, in our opinion, the most suitable GoTherapy mental health specialist for you.

Do you provide free consultations? ๐Ÿ†“

Unfortunately, our specialists currently do not offer free services. We remind you that if you have mandatory social insurance, you can consult for free at your local mental health center.

What to do in case of a psychological crisis?๐Ÿซจ

If you are already regularly visiting your GoTherapy psychologist or psychotherapist, we suggest first contacting them.

Otherwise, we suggest calling one of the psychological help centers.

Is parental consent required for an adolescent to consult on GoTherapy?๐Ÿ›น

For children and adolescents under 16 years of age, parental or guardian consent (in writing) is required for consultation. It must be available before the consultation begins and provided to the consulting therapist. Adolescents from sixteen years of age can be consulted without parental or guardian consent, for this purpose they only need to have a valid identity document to prove their age.

Do you offer discounts for schoolchildren, students or seniors? ๐Ÿท๏ธ

We currently do not offer such special discounts.

I can't find a specialist in my city, what should I do? ๐ŸŒ†

We apologize that GoTherapy does not yet have any psychologists or psychotherapists in your city. We suggest choosing from psychologists working online.

Write to us where you are from, and we, in turn, will inform our GoTherapy psychologists about the need for their services in your region๐Ÿ“.

Why should I choose GoTherapy if there are other platforms? ๐Ÿ‘€

It's simple, we strive to be the friendliest and most convenient environment for consultations or psychotherapy for you. Not everything at GoTherapy is perfect โ€“ we know that best because we are very critical of ourselves.

We fully understand that not every mental health specialist is the most suitable for you. Therefore, we will be grateful if you contact us and briefly tell us what didn't work out.

We will compensate part of the session with another specialist so that you can find that psychologist or psychotherapist with whom you can productively pursue your emotional well-being!
